MICHELLE GEALE

Dance Instructor

Michelle commenced at Blue Suede Shoes at the age 9 after getting her first taste of dancing through a school stage show. With a couple of weeks training and 2 lessons with her then partner, Michelle went on to win the Sydney RocknRoll Championship and later that year took out the NSW and Australasian titles. In following years Michelle competed and won numerous Sydney, NSW, Australiasian, South Pacific and Pan Pacific titles in Minor, Juvenile, Junior,  Youth and eventually at  Adult level.  Michelle also went onto win Best Overall Juvenille Couple 2 years running. 

1998, Michelle won a scholarship to attend The McDonald College of Performing. Michelle trained in classical ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary as well as Drama and Singing classes. She performed in the school musical of 'Bye Bye Birdie' at the Seymour Centre, the dance stream concerts at the Riverside theatre for 8 years, the concert hall at the Sydney Opera House for Classical Ballet.  Michelle was actively involved in both performing and choreographing parts of the The McDonald College's 20th Anniversary held at the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House. In 2005 Shell was Elected School Captain at McDonald College. 

Having won many titles by the age of 16 years including Adult Open of the Australasian Championships, Michelle looked for more challenges and completed her Students teacher’s certificate which enabled her to teach and pass on her knowledge in the styles of Slow Swing, Lindyhop, RocknRoll and Rockabilly.  Michelle also has her Teachers in Latin Level 1 and is still competing in the Latin Style.

Michelle looked for challenges in other forms of dancing and is currently competing in Latin and Ballroom where she has won the NSW Open Championships in Latin and ACT National Dancesport Championships in Ballroom.  Michelle is also currently studying for her Teachers Accreditation in Latin and Ballroom to add her already extensive repertoire. Michelle is forever indebt to her Coach Anna for her continual coaching, mentoring & encouragement to always set goals and aim for the stars. Michelle 's ambition is to represent Australia at the World 10 Dance Dancesport Championships and compete at a high level at the British Open Dancesport Championships.
